Recorded in the early 90s on a Tascam 8 track reel to reel (which, of course, makes it qualified to be a "The Demos Have Magic" project); Mere Mortals captures the mysterious, dark, lush, deeply insightful, quirky, sometimes tongue in cheek songwriting and performances of Michael C Thigpen. I think you’ll have the same reaction I did when I first heard him: blown away! (Check out “I Feel”!). Way ahead of its time; it’s as if Mere Mortals is a prequel to Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” and “Evermore”.

Jayne and Mike produced all tracks. Mike played all guitars except Tommy Knight electric guitar on "Ruth", Jayne all of the instruments.
